Root Canal News: Revolutionizing Root Canals - Sedation | Creekside Endodntics - Andrew R. Stubbs, DMD Lone Tree's Premier Sedation…
Lone Tree’s Premier Sedation Root Canal Specialist
We provide stress-free procedures every day at Creekside Endodontics. Sedation dentistry can allow you to get through your endodontic appointments, and even enjoy your time with us.
Dr. Stubbs provides the latest materials, techniques, and technology, along with sedation dentistry. We welcome you to our spalike practice for successful treatments and safe sedation.
Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a mild form of sedation dentistry. We are able to complete more dental work while you are sedated. You will be relaxed enough to tolerate a longer appointment.
Patients with dental anxiety shouldn’t have to suffer with pain or the symptoms of dental damage, or worry about the long-lasting consequences of avoiding dental work. Nitrous oxide gently soothes the patient and allows them to receive the dental work they need.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral conscious sedation does not “knock you out” or put you to sleep. The process is as easy as taking aspirin, and will help you feel completely relaxed.
The patient remains awake during the procedure, able to respond to questions and commands, but in a heightened state of peace. Many patients do not remember anything about their procedure, but they walk away with wonderful results.
Dr. Stubbs is proudly certified to administer oral conscious sedation. This safe and easy relaxation method will make any procedure possible for even the most worried patient.
HOW DOES ORAL CONSCIOUS SEDATION WORK?
No needles, no face masks, no passing out. All you have to do is take a simple pill. It’s just like taking an aspirin.
Remember to have someone drive you to and from your appointment. Because of your heightened state of relaxation, it won’t be safe for you to drive.
Step One: Consult with Dr. Stubbs about your concerns. He will prescribe an oral sedative based on your needs.
Step Two: Take the pills based on Dr. Stubbs’ instructions. Some patients will take one medication the night before the treatment, and another one hour before the treatment. This second pill is most important, and will minimize the activity in the parts of the brain responsible for fear.
Step Three: During your procedure, you will remain conscious, but in a deep state of tranquility. Many patients compare the feeling to sleep, and won’t have any memory of the procedure after its completion.
Step Four: Enjoy great results.
IV sedation, or intravenous sedation, is administered through a needle into the vein. This method works quickly and is also safe and effective.
Patients will feel comfortable while sedated, while able to respond to questions and breathe on their own. After the procedure, patients report that they have little to no memory of their time in the dental chair.
THE ADVANTAGES OF IV SEDATION
We provide IV sedation to make your dental appointment as carefree as possible. It is a great option for patients who need endodontic procedures. Advantages of IV sedation include:
The level of sedation can be adjusted as necessary
IV sedation takes effect faster than other forms of sedation
Patients are not unconscious during the appointment, but deeply relaxed and comfortable
If you have difficulty sitting in the dentist’s chair due to fear, sensitivity, or gag reflex, ask Dr. Stubbs about IV sedation. For more information, contact Creekside Endodontics today!
